Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Eritrean embassies and consulates generally advise a minimum processing time of around 15 business days from the point a complete application and payment are received. Because passports are mailed to the mission, applicants should add time for postage in both directions.

Some missions state processing of up to four weeks, and urgent handling may be offered for an additional fee. Travellers are advised to apply several weeks ahead of the intended travel date and to remember that the issued visa is valid for three months from the date of issue.

Plan ahead

  • Allow a minimum of about 15 business days once the application is complete
  • Add time for mailing your passport to and from the mission
  • Apply several weeks before travel; the visa is valid three months from issue
