How to apply for a Cuban visa
How the Cuban visa system works — the online e-Visa portal, applying through embassies and consulates, and the mandatory D'Viajeros form.

How you apply depends on the type of visa. Tourists increasingly apply for an electronic tourist visa (e-Visa) through Cuba's official portal, evisacuba.cu, which since July 2024 has been replacing the physical tourist card. Other visa categories — work, study, family, business/events and residence — are applied for through a Cuban embassy or consulate in the applicant's country.
For non-tourist visas, MINREX directs applicants to contact the relevant Cuban consulate for the exact requirements, since supporting documents (contracts, admission letters, invitations, proof of relationship) vary by purpose. Cuba has also operated an online visa platform for some categories via the MINREX consular network.
Separately from the visa itself, every traveller must complete the D'Viajeros advance-information form before arrival, which generates a QR code used at the border for immigration, customs and health control.
