Exact documents depend on the visa category, but a valid passport is always required, along with a completed application and payment of the consular fee. Non-tourist categories generally require category-specific evidence — a work contract, a letter of admission from an educational institution, an invitation from a business or event organiser, or proof of a family relationship.
Residence and naturalisation applications require more extensive documentation, which official and secondary sources indicate can include birth and residence certificates, police/good-conduct certificates, proof of income and Spanish translations of foreign documents. All travellers must also complete the D'Viajeros form before arrival.
