Who it is for

  • Foreign skilled and other workers employed by a Bhutan-based employer
  • Workers aged 18 or over at the time of application

Requirements

  • Approval from the Department of Labour
  • Completed work permit application form and employer/employee undertakings
  • Copy of passport (or voter identity card) and of the relevant visa/entry permit
  • Medical fitness certificate from a government-certified medical officer in Bhutan

How to apply

  • Employer obtains Department of Labour approval for the foreign worker
  • Employer submits the work permit application to the Department of Immigration
  • Provide undertakings, passport copy, visa copy and medical fitness certificate
  • Renew the permit within the length allowed for the employment
