Documents you need for a Barbados application
The supporting documents the Immigration Department commonly requires — passports, photographs, police certificates, medicals and route-specific forms.
Important
Most Barbados applications share a common core of documents: a valid passport with a copy of the bio-data page, passport-sized photographs, birth and (where relevant) marriage certificates, and a police certificate of character from every country lived in for six months or more during the past three years. Longer-term routes (work, immigrant status, permanent residence) also require a medical report or health certificate.
Each route then adds its own forms: C-1 and C-2 for long-term work permits, C-3 for short-term work permits, H-1 (Certificate of Eligibility) and H-2 for students, Form A for immigrant status, Form A1 for permanent residence, and a cover letter to the Chief Immigration Officer for entry visas.
The Immigration Department will not accept laminated documents or scanned police certificates, and foreign-language documents must be accompanied by an official English translation. Both originals and photocopies are generally required.
