How to Apply for a Bangladesh Visa

Most applicants complete the online Machine Readable Visa (MRV) form at the official visa portal, then submit documents and biometrics to a Bangladesh mission; a limited set of nationalities can use visa on arrival instead.

Bangladesh issues Machine Readable Visas (MRV). The standard route is to complete the online application form on the official portal at visa.gov.bd, print the confirmation page, and submit it with your passport, photographs, supporting documents and fee to the relevant Bangladesh High Commission, Embassy or Consulate (or its authorised visa application centre).

Investment- and employment-related visas additionally require a recommendation from the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) through its One Stop Service (OSS) portal, and some categories (NGO, missionary, journalist) need a No Objection Certificate from the relevant Bangladeshi authority before the visa can be issued.

Eligible nationalities travelling for tourism, business, investment or government work may instead obtain a visa on arrival at Dhaka, Chattogram or Sylhet international airports, subject to immigration officers' satisfaction at the port of entry.
