How to Apply for a Zimbabwe Visa or Permit
A step-by-step overview of applying for a Zimbabwe visitor visa online, getting a visa on arrival, and lodging a residence or employment permit.
Important
Most visitors apply through the official eVisa portal at evisa.gov.zw. You create an account, choose the visa type (single, double or multiple entry, or the KAZA UniVisa), upload your passport bio-data page and photo, pay online and wait for approval — around 7 working days on average. Category B nationals can instead pay for a visa on arrival (cash only) at a Zimbabwean port of entry, while Category C nationals must apply before travelling.
Residence and employment permits (temporary employment, investor, student, scholars and spouse) are lodged with the Department of Immigration rather than the eVisa portal. These typically require completed application forms (such as the I.F.5 residence permit form), an application letter to the Chief Director of Immigration, certified passport copies, photos, police clearance and category-specific documents. For employment permits the employer usually initiates the application.
