Zambia offers several ways to apply depending on what you need. Short-stay visas (tourist, business, transit) can be requested, paid for and received electronically through the Department of Immigration's e-Services / e-Visa portal, or through the Zambian Government's e-services gateway. Eligible nationals may also obtain a visa on arrival at designated ports of entry, and visa-exempt travellers need no visa for qualifying visits.

Immigration permits — such as employment, investor, study, spouse and residence permits — are applied for through the Department of Immigration. Employment permit applications in particular must be lodged and approved before the applicant travels to Zambia; only an employer, a practising lawyer or a registered immigration consultant may submit certain applications on an applicant's behalf.

Create an account on the e-Services portal to open, pay for and track an application. Persons under the age of 16 cannot apply for an e-Visa in their own right and must be covered by an accompanying adult's application.
