This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

How you apply for entry to Vanuatu depends on your nationality and purpose. Citizens of visa-exempted countries are granted a visitor permit on arrival for short tourism visits, while non-exempt travellers and anyone coming to work, study, invest or settle must obtain the appropriate visa in advance.

Most applications are now lodged through the official Vanuatu eVisa portal, where applicants create an account, complete the relevant visa form, upload supporting documents and pay the fee. The Department of Immigration and Passport Services also publishes downloadable visa forms and takes appointments for passport-related services.

Always apply through the official immigration.gov.vu or evisa.gov.vu sites; the department warns against fake sites imitating official Vanuatu government pages.
