Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For consular entry visas (tourist and business), visa authorisation is issued by the Dirección Nacional de Migración and usually takes at least 20 business days from the moment of application, after which the consulate can stamp the visa.

Residence permit timelines depend on completeness of the file and office caseload, and legal citizenship (Carta de Ciudadanía) resolution is reported to take several months. Treat any specific residence or citizenship duration as indicative and confirm with the handling office.
