Uruguayan visa resources
Fees and costs
Costs vary by route and by reciprocity agreements between Uruguay and the applicant's country; some MERCOSUR permanent residences are cost-exempt.
Important
Residence procedures are governed by reciprocity agreements between Uruguay and the applicant's country of nationality. On that basis, permanent (definitive) residence for nationals of Paraguay and Brazil is exempt from costs, while other nationalities may pay applicable fees.
Consular entry visas (tourist, business) carry consular fees set by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores; naturalisation and other document services carry their own charges. Exact fee amounts are not reproduced here — confirm the current figures with the relevant consulate, the Dirección Nacional de Migración or the Corte Electoral.
Confirm before you pay
- Ask the specific migration office or consulate for the current fee for your route and nationality
- MERCOSUR permanent residence cost exemptions apply to certain nationalities (Paraguay, Brazil) under reciprocity
- Consular visa fees are set separately by the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores
