Documents you may need
- Two (2) completed Forms No. P & 1–6 (obtainable from the Ministry, 52–60 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain, or the Immigration Office, Scarborough, Tobago)
- Birth certificate of the applicant, and of any children under 18, with supporting affidavit where necessary (original and copy)
- Spouse's documents: birth certificate, Trinidad and Tobago ID card, passport and Permanent Residence Certificate where applicable (original and copy)
- Marriage certificate, and any Divorce Decree Absolute or Death Certificate for prior marriages (original and copy)
- Statutory Declaration on previous marriages/divorces and spouse's support (Commissioner of Affidavits or Justice of the Peace)
- Passport – photocopy of the bio-data page and any pages stamped by Immigration
- Police Certificate of Character from Trinidad and Tobago, your country of birth, and any country where you lived three (3) months or more (US citizens must obtain a FEDERAL certificate, not state/province)
- Four (4) identical passport-sized photographs, matte finish with a white background
- Three (3) 9x4 window envelopes, each with a $1.00 stamp
- Naturalisation/Citizenship/Restoration certificates of other countries where applicable (also for the citizen/resident spouse)
Frequently asked questions
Yes. The Immigration Division requires both the applicant and the citizen/resident spouse to attend the interview, which is conducted between 8:00am and 2:00pm. Any additional documents needed will be identified at the interview.
