Senegal's Visa Reciprocity Policy and Exemptions
Senegal's move to a reciprocal electronic visa and how it interacts with the long-standing exemption list.
Important
Since 1 May 2015 Senegal has exempted nationals of a defined list of countries from entry visas for short stays. In 2025 the Government announced a policy of reciprocity: nationals of countries that require entry visas from Senegalese citizens would in turn need to obtain and pay for a Senegalese electronic visa.
This means a nationality that is currently exempt could become subject to a reciprocal e-visa if its own government requires visas from Senegalese travellers. Because implementation, fees and the official portal were still being rolled out, travellers should confirm their current requirement directly with official Senegalese government sources before booking.
