Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Consular visa processing times vary by the Senegalese mission handling your application, so the Ministry advises contacting the consulate for its current timeframe. Residence documents follow a two-step pattern: a receipt (récépissé) is issued to authorise your stay while the foreigner identity card is produced.

Plan ahead and apply well before you travel, particularly for long-stay work and student routes, which involve additional approvals such as labour authorisation or proof of enrolment.
