Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality, your purpose and how long you intend to stay.

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Nationals of a defined list of countries can enter Senegal without a visa for stays of under three months. Nationals not on that list, and holders of refugee travel documents, need an entry visa. Senegal has announced a reciprocity policy under which nationals of countries that require visas from Senegalese citizens must obtain a Senegalese visa.

Regardless of visa exemption, any foreign national planning to stay longer than three months needs a residence document (the foreigner identity card), and specific routes such as work and study carry their own additional conditions.
