Requirements
- The permit covers cohabitation for solidarity and mutual-aid purposes, under Article 15(1)(a) of Law 118/2010 (as amended).
- You must prove adequate accommodation - a registered rental contract, cadastral income if the home is owned, or another suitable title.
- You must show the means to financially support the cohabitant (your latest income-tax return plus any other supporting evidence).
- A declaration of cohabitation must be signed before a public official at the Foreigners Office.
- A bank guarantee (fidejussione) covering possible repatriation costs is required unless the cohabitant comes from Italy and can lawfully return there.
- Health coverage recognised by the ISS is required; Italian residents may instead use the Italian health card or an insurance policy with at least EUR 30,000 annual cover for illness, accident, maternity and medical care.

- Copy of a valid ID card and/or passport
- 4 ICAO-format passport photographs (2 for a renewal)
- Birth certificate or extract showing parentage
- Certificate of citizenship, certificate of residence and family-status certificate
- Certificate of single status, or a divorce judgment / approved separation (a resident with no separation may self-certify at the Office with EUR 3 in duty stamps)
- San Marino criminal-record and pending-charges certificate, self-certified at the Foreigners Office with EUR 15 in duty stamps
- Criminal-record and pending-charges certificate issued by the competent authorities of the beneficiary's country of origin
- Signed declaration of cohabitation before a public official at the Foreigners Office
- Proof of adequate accommodation: registered rental contract, cadastral income if owned, or other suitable title
- Latest income-tax return and any other proof of the means to maintain the cohabitant
- Bank guarantee (fidejussione) for repatriation costs, unless the cohabitant is from Italy
- Health-coverage form completed and stamped at the Ufficio Prestazioni; Italian residents attach the Italian health card or an insurance policy with minimum EUR 30,000 annual cover
