Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

All routes start with a valid passport — for visitor entry it should be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. Beyond the passport, the supporting documents depend on the route.

Visitor visa applicants typically provide passport photographs, bank statements, a return ticket and sometimes an employer's letter. Student applicants add an unconditional admission letter and a notarised birth certificate. Work-permit applications rely on employer documents and evidence of local advertising, while citizenship-by-investment applicants must provide detailed proof of source of funds and police clearances.

Common documents

  • Valid passport (six months' validity for visitor entry) and passport photographs
  • Completed application form for the relevant route
  • Proof of funds / bank statements
  • Police clearance (residence, work and citizenship routes)
  • Route-specific evidence: admission letter (study), employer documents (work), source-of-funds and supporting documents (citizenship)
