Who it is for

  • Spouse of a Rwandan citizen or of a residence-permit holder
  • Unmarried children under 18 (including recognised adopted children)
  • Children aged 18–25 in documented continuing dependency
  • Close family members of a permanent-residence-permit holder (M3)

Requirements

  • Application letter
  • Marriage certificate (for a spouse) or birth/adoption certificate (for a child)
  • Police clearance for applicants over 18
  • Copy of the principal's identity/permit document

How to apply

  • Ensure the sponsor already holds the underlying residence permit or is a Rwandan citizen
  • Apply online via Irembo with proof of the family relationship
  • Pay the dependant fee (half the principal's fee)
