Who needs a visa for Rwanda

Eligibility and fee treatment depend on nationality and purpose; visa on arrival is available to all nationalities.

Since 1 January 2018, citizens of all countries can obtain a visa on arrival in Rwanda without prior application. Fee treatment then depends on nationality: African Union, Commonwealth and La Francophonie nationals are generally granted 30 days free of charge, and East African Community citizens receive an entry pass free of charge for up to six months.

For stays beyond a short visit, or for work, study, family or business, the applicant must qualify for the specific permit class and meet its documentary requirements. Applicants should confirm the current fee-waiver lists and terms on the DGIE website, as these are updated periodically.
