Who it is for

  • Foreign nationals taking up formal employment in the PNG private sector
  • Workers whose PNG employer will sponsor the application

Requirements

  • Valid copy of the employee's passport bio-data page
  • Updated curriculum vitae and copy of the job description
  • Certified evidence of education qualifications
  • Employment contract signed by both employee and employer
  • Two recent colour passport photographs and the employee's right thumbprint
  • Evidence of professional registration / English language proficiency where relevant
  • Employer's IPA certificate of incorporation
  • Police clearance and medical report including chest X-ray
  • Maintenance guarantee bond signed and stamped by the employer/sponsor
  • Receipt of payment of the (non-refundable) fee

How to apply

  • The employer submits the application through the ICA Sponsor Portal for new applicants
  • Additional documentation (organisational structure, justification letter) may be requested
  • Requirements for renewals, bridging and cancellation are published on the ICA website
