Entry Ports and Entry Permit Conditions
Papua New Guinea's designated ports of entry and the conditions that apply to holding, using and keeping an entry permit valid.
Important
Papua New Guinea has two approved ports of entry: Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby and the Wutung land border post in Vanimo, West Sepik Province. Entry through any unauthorised port may result in refused entry or penalties.
An entry permit holder must enter PNG within six months of the permit being issued, or it becomes invalid. Except for permanent resident permit holders, existing entry permit holders must not be absent from PNG for any period exceeding six months; those absent for six months or more must make a fresh application, with new health and character checks, before returning. Entry permits can be cancelled by the Minister under the Migration Act 1978 on grounds including breach of conditions, criminal conduct, or lacking the means of support.
