Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

A visa application is made on the official application form and lodged in person. Applicants normally need a travel document valid well beyond the intended stay, a recent photograph, evidence of the purpose of travel, proof of accommodation and sufficient means of subsistence, and travel health insurance.

For a long-stay (D) visa the key additional document is the Ministry of Interior's decision granting temporary residence, together with the documents supporting the residence ground — for example a work permit for employment, an enrolment confirmation for study, or a marriage or birth certificate for family reunification.

Because exact document lists depend on nationality, purpose and the mission handling the case, always check the checklist published by the competent North Macedonian embassy or consulate and the Ministry of Interior before applying.
