Who it is for

  • International graduates who completed an eligible qualification in New Zealand
  • Level 7 degree, or level 8-10 qualification (30+ weeks full-time), or an eligible non-degree level 4-7 qualification

Requirements

  • Completed an eligible qualification in New Zealand meeting the study-length rules
  • Bank statements in your name showing at least NZD $5,000
  • Copy of your qualification or a completion letter/academic transcript
  • Apply within 3, 6 or 12 months after your student visa expires, depending on what you studied

What you can do

  • Work for most employers in New Zealand (open work rights for degree-level graduates)
  • Non-degree level 4-7 graduates may work only in a field directly linked to their study
  • Gain New Zealand work experience toward a skilled residence pathway
