Requirements

  • Hold a valid passport of a SADC (Southern African Development Community) member state.
  • Travel must be for tourism or a short visit — the exemption does not cover work, study or residence, which each need the appropriate visa obtained in advance.
  • Passport valid with blank pages, plus any onward or accommodation details immigration may ask for at the border.

How to apply

There is no visa to apply for in advance: eligible SADC nationals present their passport at a Mozambican port of entry and are admitted as visitors.

Mozambique has been rolling out an online Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for arrivals through the official portal evisa.gov.mz. Check whether ETA registration is required for your nationality before you travel, and carry proof if you complete it.
