How to Apply for a Morocco Visa or Residence Permit
An overview of the two-stage system: getting the right entry visa (or entering visa-free) and then obtaining a residence permit inside Morocco for longer stays.

Applying for the right to enter and stay in Morocco depends on your nationality and purpose. Many nationalities can enter visa-free for short visits; others must obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) through the official government portal where eligible, or a sticker visa from a Moroccan embassy or consulate. Entry visas are handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates and its diplomatic missions.
For any stay beyond the short-stay period — for work, study, family or settlement — a residence permit is required. This is applied for inside Morocco with the national security services (DGSN) after you report to the local police authority following arrival. Work and study routes involve extra steps first: an ANAPEC-approved employment contract for workers, or an acceptance letter from a recognised institution for students.
