Who Needs a Visa for Morocco

Whether you need a visa, and which one, is determined by your nationality and the purpose and length of your stay.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Morocco exempts a substantial number of nationalities from the visa requirement for short visits, allowing entry with just a passport stamp on arrival. Travellers who are not exempt fall into two groups: those eligible for the online e-Visa (for example, holders of qualifying residence permits or sticker visas for certain countries), and those who must obtain a consular sticker visa from a Moroccan embassy or consulate.

Eligibility for longer stays is separate. Working requires an approved foreign-employment contract, studying requires acceptance at a recognised institution, and joining family requires proof of the relationship. Settlement and citizenship depend on continuous lawful residence over time.
