Who it is for

  • Anyone aged 16 or over staying in Monaco more than three months or settling there
  • Employees, self-employed people, business owners, retirees and the economically self-sufficient

Requirements

  • Accommodation: ownership deed, a registered lease (typically at least 12 months), or living with a spouse/close relative
  • Financial resources: employment or business documents, pension proof, or a bank reference confirming adequate means
  • Good character: a criminal-record extract less than three months old from each country of residence over the past five years
  • A valid passport with the French long-stay visa (non-EEA nationals), birth certificate and a signed declaration on honour

  • Reside in Monaco and renew the permit as you progress from temporary to ordinary status
  • Move freely within the Schengen area on the strength of the permit

How to apply

  • Non-EEA nationals obtain the French long-stay visa (type D) first
  • Apply to the Residents Section online via the teleservice platform, or in person at 9 rue Suffren-Reymond, Monaco
  • Pay the applicable fee (€80 for a first temporary permit)
