Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Residence-permit validity is fixed by category: Temporary one year, Ordinary three years, Privilege ten years, and spouse-of-a-Monégasque five years. Residents renew and progress between categories as their length of residence increases.

For business authorisation, the Minister of State is required to respond within three months of an application submitted to the Economic Development Department. Overall processing times for visas and work permits depend on the competent French consulate and Monaco's Employment Service; confirm current timelines directly with them.
