Who it is for

  • Yacht and private-vessel crew and passengers entering the Marshall Islands by sea.

Requirements

  • Advance notice of vessel and crew details: name, nationality, skipper, arrival date, port of arrival, departure date and next port of call.
  • Wait for an approval letter before entry.
  • Skipper's confirmation letter accepting anyone joining the vessel.

How to apply

  • Submit the required vessel and crew information to the Division of Immigration before entry.
  • Do not depart for the RMI until the approval letter is issued.

Documents you may need

  • Advance vessel and crew notice: vessel name, each person's name and nationality, skipper details, arrival date, port of arrival, departure date and next port of call.
  • Approval letter issued by the Division of Immigration before departure for the RMI.
  • Skipper's written acceptance letter for anyone joining the vessel (skipper's approval alone is not sufficient without the Division's approval).
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months for each person aboard.
  • Aircraft/Vessel Arrival and Departure Form.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. The Division of Immigration requires vessel and crew details to be submitted in advance and issues an approval letter that must be received before you depart for the RMI. You must arrive at an approved seaport (Majuro, Kwajalein or Jaluit).
