How to Apply for a Kyrgyzstan Visa
The main routes into Kyrgyzstan are visa-free entry, the online e-Visa, and a visa issued in advance by an embassy or consulate, depending on your nationality and purpose.
Important
Kyrgyzstan operates three broad entry channels. Nationals of many countries can enter visa-free for a set period; nationals of certain other countries can apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) through the official government portal; and everyone else applies for a visa in advance at a Kyrgyz embassy or consulate. The first step is to check your nationality on the official e-Visa portal, which indicates whether you are visa-free, e-Visa eligible, or must apply through a mission.
The e-Visa is completed entirely online: you select your nationality and visa type, complete the application form, upload your documents, pay by card, and receive an approved visa as a downloadable PDF that you present on arrival. E-Visas are accepted only at designated international checkpoints. For visa categories not available online (such as work, study or long-stay routes), applications are made to a Kyrgyz diplomatic mission or, for in-country matters such as work permits and residence, to the relevant Kyrgyz state body.
Your travel document must be valid for at least six months from the date you intend to enter Kyrgyzstan. Requirements, checkpoints and eligibility change, so verify the current position on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and e-Visa sites before booking travel.
