Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Applications for Honduran visas and residence are handled either by a Honduran consulate abroad or by the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) inside Honduras, depending on the route. Consular visas are applied for in person at a consulate before travel, while foreigner permits and residence categories are filed with the INM's General Secretariat.

The INM states that visa applications are personal and made in person. Holding an approved visa or permit does not by itself guarantee entry: a migration officer at the port of entry always makes the final admission decision.

Where each route is handled

  • Work, study, family, investor and residence categories: INM General Secretariat in Honduras
  • Entry pre-check for visitors: online prechequeo portal before travel
