The CA-4 agreement and the immigration pre-check
How Honduras's membership of the CA-4 free-movement zone and its online prechequeo affect visitors.
Important
Honduras belongs to the CA-4 agreement with Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua, which operates as a shared border-control area. For visitors this means the permitted short stay is counted across all four countries combined, so time spent in the others reduces the time available in Honduras.
Separately, Honduras operates an online immigration pre-check (prechequeo) that travellers are expected to complete before arrival. The form is submitted at the INM's prechequeo portal and presented, with the passport, to the migration officer on entry.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required for travellers arriving from countries where the disease is present.
Practical points
- CA-4 stay is shared across Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua
- Complete the prechequeo online before you travel
- Carry a yellow fever certificate if arriving from a risk country
- A visa or exemption does not guarantee entry — the officer decides
