Honduras controls entry, stay and residence through the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM), which administers visas, foreigner permits and residence under the country's Migration and Aliens Law. Whether you need a visa in advance depends on your nationality and your reason for travelling: many visitors enter visa-free under the Central America CA-4 agreement, while others must obtain a consular visa before arrival. Holding a visa never guarantees admission, since a migration officer at the port of entry makes the final decision on each traveller.
