How to apply for a Haiti visa or permit
Where each Haitian immigration process begins — visas at embassies/consulates, residence permits at the DIE, and work permits through the labour ministry.
Important
Haiti's immigration processes are handled by different offices depending on what you need. Short-stay entry visas (for the nationalities that require one) are issued by Haitian embassies and consulates abroad on behalf of the Ministère des Affaires Étrangères. Residence permits (permis de séjour) and immigration control inside Haiti are handled by the Direction de l'Immigration et de l'Émigration (DIE) in Port-au-Prince. Work authorisation is handled separately by the labour ministry.
Regardless of whether you need a visa, every traveller must complete the government's iKat digital entry/exit registration before arriving in or leaving Haiti.
Because published fee schedules, validity periods and processing times are limited on the official portals, applicants are directed to contact the relevant Haitian embassy/consulate or the DIE directly to confirm current requirements before travelling.
