For nationalities that need a visa, the Embassy of Haiti advises applying at least one month before the intended date of departure.

Residence permits (permis de séjour) and work permits are processed inside Haiti and can take longer; applicants should allow generous lead time and confirm current timescales with the DIE and the labour ministry, as official published processing times are limited.
