How to Apply for a Georgian Visa or Residence Permit
Where and how to apply, depending on whether you need a short-stay visa, an immigration visa, or a residence permit.
Important
How you apply for Georgia depends on your nationality and your purpose. Many nationals need no visa at all and simply present a valid passport at the border. Those who do need a short-stay visa usually apply online through the official e-Visa portal at evisa.gov.ge, or at a Georgian embassy or consulate.
For long-term stays, the process has two stages: an immigration (Category D) visa to enter, submitted through the consular service (geoconsul.gov.ge) or a Georgian mission, followed by a residence permit application to the Public Service Development Agency (SDA) once you are in Georgia. Residence and citizenship matters are handled by the SDA, in person at a Public Service Hall or online via its distance service.
