Georgia's 365-Day Visa-Free Stay

A distinctive feature of Georgian policy: eligible nationals may stay visa-free for up to one full year per entry.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Unlike most countries, which cap visa-free stays at 90 days or less, Georgia allows citizens of a long list of countries to remain visa-free for up to 365 days per entry. This makes it a popular base for remote workers and long-stay visitors, even though it is a short-term entry status rather than residence.

The visa-free stay does not grant the right to take up long-term employment or study without the appropriate immigration visa and residence permit, and it does not lead directly to residence or citizenship. The eligible-country list is set by ordinance of the Government of Georgia; travellers should confirm their nationality's status, and any conditions, on the official consular website before relying on it.
