Who Needs a Visa for Georgia
Whether you need a visa, and which one, depends on your nationality, purpose of travel and length of stay.
Important
Georgia has an unusually open entry policy. Citizens of a large list of countries can enter without a visa and stay for up to a year, while others must obtain an ordinary (Category C) short-stay visa, in many cases online through the e-Visa system. The current visa-free country list is set by government ordinance and published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Eligibility for longer stays is purpose-based: work and business (D1), missions (D2), study (D3/D6), family reunification (D4) and property ownership (D5) each have their own immigration visa and matching residence permit. Investors, close family of Georgian citizens, and long-term residents have their own residence and citizenship routes.
