Every applicant needs a valid passport. Short-stay visa applicants generally add documents evidencing the purpose of travel (for example, accommodation, an invitation, or business correspondence) and pay the visa fee. Since the start of 2026, foreign nationals entering Georgia are reported to be required to hold travel medical insurance for the duration of their stay.

Long-term applicants provide grounds-specific documents: an employment contract or company registration for work, an enrolment certificate for study, marriage or birth certificates for family reunification, and ownership documents plus a certified valuation for property-based routes. Residence-permit applications to the Public Service Development Agency also require proof of income at the level set in law.
