How to Apply for a Gambia Visa or Permit
The channels for applying for a Gambian visa, permit or citizenship, and what to do at the border.
Important
Short-stay visas for The Gambia are obtained from Gambian embassies, high commissions, consulates or accredited representatives abroad. Where there is no Gambian diplomatic representative in a traveller's country, an entry visa can be obtained on arrival from immigration officers at gazetted ports of entry, including Banjul International Airport.
Residence, work and study permits are administered inside the country by the Gambia Immigration Department, usually with the sponsoring employer or institution involved. Citizenship applications (registration or naturalisation) go through the GID's Naturalisation/Registration & Clearance unit.
