Who it is for

Nationals of ECOWAS / CEDEAO member states travelling to Côte d'Ivoire.

Requirements

  • Valid ECOWAS passport or national identity card
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate is required to enter Côte d'Ivoire

What you can do

  • Enter Côte d'Ivoire without an entry visa
  • Regularise longer stays under the rules on the stay of foreigners

How to apply

There is nothing to apply for in advance and no e-visa to buy. As an ECOWAS national you present your valid ECOWAS identity card or passport to the immigration officer at the border on arrival.

Be ready to show evidence of onward or return travel and, if asked, where you will stay and that you can support yourself during the visit.

If you need to remain beyond the visa-free period, regularise your stay in-country with the Ivorian immigration and national security authorities before it expires — do not overstay.

Documents you may need

  • Valid ECOWAS national identity card or passport
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months (if you are entering on a passport rather than an ID card)

  • Address of your accommodation and, if requested, proof of sufficient funds

Frequently asked questions
