Who needs a visa for Côte d'Ivoire
How nationality and ECOWAS membership determine whether you need a visa to enter Côte d'Ivoire.
Important
Entry to Côte d'Ivoire requires a visa except for nationals of ECOWAS (CEDEAO) member states and nationals of countries that have signed visa-waiver agreements with Côte d'Ivoire. ECOWAS passport holders are exempted from entry visas, and a national identity card is accepted as a travel document for ECOWAS nationals.
All other visitors need a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and, unless exempt, a visa appropriate to their purpose of travel. The type of visa or permit you need depends on why you are travelling: short tourism or business visits, work, study, joining family, or long-term residence each follow a different route.
Long stays (beyond 90 days) trigger an additional requirement to obtain a resident card from ONECI; non-ECOWAS foreigners must lodge that application after entry within the period set by the regulations on the stay of foreigners.
