Important information
On this page
- Official name
- International transit
- Route type
- Transit (no formal entry)
- Condition
- Stay airside in the international transit area
- Onward travel
- Confirmed onward flight and documents for the next country required
- Leaving the transit area
- Requires an entry visa
- Passing immigration is treated as entering the country, not transiting.
Who it is for
- Air passengers with a confirmed onward connection who remain airside
- Not for travellers who need to leave the airport or enter the country
Requirements
- You must hold a confirmed onward flight and all the travel documents required for your next destination.
- You must remain in the aircraft or in the international transit area of the airport without passing through immigration.
- If you need to leave the international transit area (for example to collect and re-check baggage, change airport, or stay overnight landside), you need an entry visa rather than transit only.
- A valid yellow fever vaccination certificate may still be checked.
How to apply
If you stay strictly within the international transit area with a confirmed onward ticket, no separate application is normally needed at Bangui M'Poko International Airport.
If your itinerary requires you to enter the country, apply for the appropriate short-stay visa in advance through a Central African Republic mission, because there is no automatic landside transit admission.
