Who Needs a Visa for the Central African Republic
Whether you need a Central African Republic visa depends on your nationality and the purpose and length of your stay.
Important
Most foreign nationals must obtain a visa before travelling to the Central African Republic. A limited list of nationalities — including several CEMAC neighbours — are reported to be exempt for short stays, and some CEMAC travellers may enter on a valid national identity card rather than a passport. The exemption list changes over time, so travellers should confirm their current status with a Central African mission.
The type of visa needed depends on how long you intend to stay: short trips use the short-stay visa, while stays beyond a short visit use the long-stay visa. Anyone remaining longer than three months must also obtain a residence permit (titre de séjour) after arrival.
