Every applicant needs a valid passport and a completed application; work and residence routes require additional employer, medical and labour documents.

For visit and social visas, applicants generally need a completed visa application form, a valid passport, and supporting documents specified by the Immigration Department; approval depends on the department's assessment and complete documentation.

For work passes, the Immigration Department's Work Pass Division lists documents including a passport valid for at least 6 months, medical examination results, the employer's Foreign Worker Licence (LPA), a Job Order from the Labour Department, and the required application forms such as Form 23 and registration forms.
