Who it is for

  • Citizens of eligible countries (incl. US, Canada, Australia, EU states, Japan, China, Malaysia, several Gulf states)
  • Travellers for tourism, trade, investment or government work
  • Certain groups: nationals of countries without a Bangladesh mission, UN/foreign-mission staff, people of Bangladeshi origin, and documented investors

Requirements

  • Return/onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation or a business invitation letter
  • Fee paid in cash at the port

How to apply

  • Confirm your nationality or category is eligible for visa on arrival before you travel - where a Bangladesh mission can issue a visa in advance, that is the safer route
  • Arrange for the host organisation to notify the Department of Immigration & Passports and the immigration authority ahead of your arrival
  • Carry your supporting documents and the minimum US$500 in cash or on a card
  • Apply at the immigration desk on arrival and pay the fee in cash in foreign currency
