Documents Required for Bahamas Applications

Important
Bahamas residence and work permit applications share a common documentary core. Applicants generally need a valid passport (with the biographical page copied), two recent passport photographs (2x2 inches on a white background), a medical certificate dated within 30 days of submission, and a police certificate issued within the previous six months covering five years of residence, required for applicants aged 14 and over.
Depending on the route, additional documents include certified marriage and birth certificates, character references, financial or bank references showing means of support, employer business documents (business licence or certificate of incorporation and NIB certificate), and property documents such as a registered deed and International Landholding Certificate for homeowners.
Documents issued outside The Bahamas must be apostilled or legalised and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and foreign-language documents must be accompanied by certified English translations.
