Requirements
- Entrepreneurial route: a registered business or documented entrepreneurial activity in Armenia, with tax compliance. Foreign nationals typically hold temporary residence status (issued in one-year increments) while building the required record.
- To reach permanent residence on entrepreneurial grounds, you generally must have held temporary residence status in Armenia for at least three years during the previous five years.
- Investor route (from 1 November 2026): under amendments to the Law 'On Foreigners', qualifying investors are granted a permanent residence card without first passing through the temporary residence stage. The qualifying investment criteria will be set by Government regulation.

Frequently asked questions
Under the entrepreneurial route the usual path is three years of temporary residence within the previous five years. From 1 November 2026, a new investor route allows a qualifying investor to be granted a five-year permanent residence card directly, but the Government has not yet published the required investment amount or conditions.
