Who is eligible to enter or stay in Armenia
Eligibility for visa-free entry, an e-visa or an embassy visa is set by nationality; residence status depends on having a qualifying ground such as work, study, family or investment.
Important
Armenia divides nationalities into those who may enter without a visa, those who may use the online e-visa, and those who must apply through an embassy or consulate. Visa-exempt nationals may generally stay up to 180 days within a one-year period. You should confirm which group your nationality falls into on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website before travelling.
To stay beyond a permitted visit you must qualify for a residence status. Temporary residence is available to people with a lawful ground such as employment, study, family reunification, entrepreneurship or Armenian origin. Permanent residence is available after qualifying temporary residence or on family and investment grounds, and special residence is reserved for people of Armenian descent and other distinguished individuals.
