Documents required for residence applications
Most residence categories share a common documentary core: passport, Argentine and foreign criminal record certificates, proof of address, and category-specific evidence, all legalised or apostilled.

Across residence categories, Migraciones requires a common set of documents: a valid passport or MERCOSUR travel document; an Argentine criminal record certificate for applicants aged 16 and over; foreign criminal clearance certificates from any country where the applicant lived for more than one year in the last three years; proof of address; and evidence of lawful, regular entry.
Each category then adds its own supporting evidence, for example a signed pre-employment contract and employer registration for workers, enrolment confirmation for students, a legalised birth or marriage certificate for family reunification, or an investment project for investors.
Foreign documents must be legalised through an Argentine consulate or bear the Hague Apostille, and any document not in Spanish must be accompanied by a certified public translation.
